爱尔兰民谣歌手艾琳娜·麦克伊芙(Eleanor McEvoy)1967年1月20日生于都柏林。4岁学习钢琴，6岁开始接触小提琴的她在少年时就加入了初级爱尔兰青年交响乐团，并在毕业后成为了爱尔兰国家交响乐团的一员。但四年后，她却毅然辞去了团内的职务并开始了自己的单飞历程。在1992年，她的单曲"Only a Woman's Heart" 被作为主打曲目(和玛丽·黑合唱)出现于著名的杂锦专辑《A Woman's Heart》里，而该专辑随后更成为了爱尔兰历史上销量最好的唱片。毫无疑问的，这个专辑令艾琳娜在一夜之间成为了一颗闪亮的星星。两年后，她推出了首张个人专辑，1996年，第二张专辑《What's Following Me?》问世。再后来，在1999年年中，她把由Rupert Hine制作的专辑Snapshots带到了乐迷们的眼前，并从那时候开始了与钢琴家Brian Connor的合作。艾琳娜在2001年的专辑《YOLA》绝对可以说是她的辉煌之作，而该专辑的成功，在技术上而言离不开她与Brian的珠联壁合。此外，2003年，她的首张专辑被MARKET SQUARE公司再次发行；2004年出了《Early Hours》；2006年出了《Out There》；她最新的专辑则是去年推出的《Love Must Be Tough》。
