  Dire Straits，虽然因为代理唱片商的翻译方式，在中文领域中通常采直翻译名，但“dire straits”其实是个英文俚语，譬喻“困境”，因此也曾被译为困境），是一支1977年时成立于英国纽卡索的四人制摇滚乐队。有别于当时流行的庞克摇滚乐风，Dire Straits是支以经典摇滚（Classic Rock）为主要风格的乐团，1984年的畅销单曲《金钱无用》（Money For Nothing）是其颠峰之作，除了是他们的首张告示牌排行榜冠军单曲外，也替其赢得1985年的葛莱美奖，并被选为MTV欧洲台的开台首播音乐录像带。
